
The Office of the Associate Provost for Teaching and Technology and UF Information Technology (UFIT) is proud to host the second annual Teaching Excellence Workshop is scheduled for March 29, 2013 from 11:30 -4:30 PM and will be offered onsite in Smathers Library (Room 1 A) and online through an Adobe Connect Session. This year the workshop will showcase how faculty are using innovative technology to enhance onsite courses, develop fully online courses for students in residence at UF and courses that are offered at a distance for students in fully online programs.
Andrew McCollough, Ph.D. will provide an overview of the UF Coursera Partnership which will be followed by a presentation from a representative from Coursera Daphne Koller, co-founder of Coursera, will share her perspective on the evolution of the MOOCs and the future of higher education.
Faculty will show samples of the courses that are offered through the UF Coursera Partnership as well as online courses offered through distance learning to UF degree seeking students. The courses that will be presented have been selected based on feedback from the 2012 Teaching Excellence Workshop and will include a demonstration of innovation in online collaborations and online assessment.
The workshop is free and open to all UF Faculty, Affiliate Faculty and Teaching Assistants. Lunch will be provided to all onsite attendees. This program is hosted and brought to you by the Office of the Associate Provost for Teaching and Technology and UF Information Technology and the Center for Instructional Technology and Training.
The Onsite workshop is now full. You may still register for the online option, which can be accessed via Adobe Connect on the day of the event. Online participants will receive instructions signing into Adobe Connect prior to March 29th.

To access the recorded sessions through e-Learning in Sakai, follow the steps below.
- Log into e-Learning
- Click the My Workspace tab at the top of the page
- Choose Membership from the left menu
- Click Joinable Sites at the top of the page
- In the "search" box, type the name of the course you are looking for (2012 Teaching Excellence workshop) and click Search
- The course will appear with a “join” link below the name
- Click join
- You are now enrolled in the site
- The site will appear in your list of active sites
